Sexual Response

Mrs. L.V. reported that she and her spouse had a very active and spontaneous sex life despite their busy lives and raising a young child.
Q6. How does SCI affect women in terms of sexual response and how can one treat it?
1. Women with SCI are less likely to achieve orgasm and time to orgasm is greater than in able-bodied women.
2. Sildenafil may partially reverse subjective sexual arousal difficulties in women with SCI; however, larger scale studies are required to solidify this conclusion.
3. Manual and vibratory clitoral stimulation may increase genital responsiveness in women with SCI.
