Community Organizations

Spinal Cord Injury Canada: Organization that supports people with SCI in Canada through regional Canadian SCI associations. Each regional association provides services to people with SCIs in their area (including peer services and links to local resources) and general information about SCI.

Paralyzed Veterans of America: Organization that supports veterans and people with disabilities in the United States and offers a range of self-help guides on SCI health conditions.

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia: Organizations supporting people with SCI in Australia. Website includes general information about living with SCI and links to social services and financial programs specific to Australia.

Spinal Injuries Association (United Kingdom): Provides a range of support services available in the UK and includes brief overviews on topics related to SCI living such as family and work life.

United Spinal Association (United States): Organization that supports people with spinal cord injuries and disease in the United States. Provides resources and peer support services.


Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation: Encourages initiatives, services, and policy changes that support SCI people in Ontario, Canada.

Rick Hansen Foundation: Funds programs and research projects aimed to create opportunities and improve the quality of life of SCI individuals.

Craig H. Neilsen Foundation: Supports research projects and initiatives to empower and advocate for people living with SCI.

Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation: Funds research, offers resources, and provides support services to advance the lives of people living with SCI.
