Case 3: Mr. LM

Mr. LM is a 21-year-old architecture student who fell from a 5th floor balcony after a faulty guardrail gave way. He had no health problems and took no medications prior to this injury. He lacks even a flicker of power in the arms or legs, but does have deep anal sensation. At one-month post injury his spinal cord injury is graded as a C4 AIS B (see Figure 1 and 2).
